Blythburgh Pits

14 miles south of Lowestoft, Suffolk, situated just off the A12 south of Blythburgh
This ex-gravel pit is a superb sand track. In the winter it gets very rough and whooped out which is perfect practice and in the summer when its dry its like riding a beach. The track has changed a lot through the years, the infamous Blythburgh drop off has been worn down into a gentle slop but the guys there have created a lot more obstacles while still incorporating some of the superb natural corners. The track is also constantly being threatened by closure, a couple of residents from the village have tried their best but at the moment the track has put up a good fight and with some alterations including banks to reduce the noise it seems to be working. SO when you go there, make sure you stick to rules and don't ride in the pits
